An essential course for those who want more confidence or need basic boat handling skills, or to lower the insurance premium on your own boat!  The price includes logbook and certificates.  This course can then lead on to receipt of the ICC (International Certificate of Competence) required for boating in Europe, available through us (coastal or inland).

The course is scheduled as follows:

 

DAY 1: The first day of the course is spent in the classroom for the theory side of the course.  The day starts at 9.30am & finishes at about 4pm.  For lunch arrangements you can either bring a packed lunch, or there are cafes & pubs near the centre.

 

DAY 2: The second & final day of the course is spent on the boat, learning practical handling skills.  For lunch arrangements we suggest a packed lunch for convenience.  The day starts at about 9am and finishes at approx. 4pm.

Course requirements:

WARM Waterproof clothing for the second day (not provided).

RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course

This course is the next step up from Level 2 and progresses on from what you learnt in Level 2 and expands your knowledge of more advanced theory of boat handling.  The theory side covers more navigation, passage planning, GPS use & VHF use.  The practical side covers more on GPS use & general powerboat handling skills.

 

DURATION: 2 day course held on weekdays.

PREREQUISITES: RYA Powerboat Level 2 + recommended first aid certificate & VHF operator.

MINIMUM AGE: 12.

COURSE PRICE:£185 includes certificate.
