Did you learn to dive abroad in warm, clear water?
Do you fancy diving in the UK? If the answer to these questions is yes, then the Discover Local Diving orientation course is for you. Though strictly not a course, this experience gives you a safe, escorted orientation to what conditions are like in UK temperate waters.
This orientation is a must before you try diving in the Channel for the first time.
The dive takes place down at the inland site that we use for our open water diver training - Horsea Island in Portsmouth. Horsea Island is an enclosed section of sea with a maximum depth of 6 metres, providing easy conditions to become accustomed to temperature and visibility. With no tides or currents to worry about, diving at Horsea is guaranteed whatever the weather.

| A qualified PADI professional will escort you to ensure peace of mind, and assist you with any queries or worries. When you dive in UK waters you generally need to use something called a Surface Marker Buoy (SMB for short). SMBs are necessary for boats to be able to see you, and are mandatory equipment for UK diving. We can help you in the techniques and use of SMBs whilst on your dive at Horsea, to enable you to become accustomed to them in safe, controlled conditions.

The cost of an orientation is £40 fully inclusive. This includes the use of main equipment and professional guide.
Not provided: mask, snorkel, boots, fins; dive site entry fee (payable direct to site). |

You need to hold a minimum qualification of PADI Scuba Diver to complete this course. Certification card & logbook will be requested upon booking. A liability release will need to be completed upon booking. |
